Masako UENO
I have been attracted to black-and-white gelatin silver prints. This old-fashioned photography takes a lot of time and labor but fits my work. I place props and a cat carefully in my small room. I want to make my tiny space expanding microcosm.
Born in Tokyo,1969. Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1994. While at school, began taking black-and-white photographs and making gelatin silver prints in the darkroom. Living with a cat named Pepeo, sits as a model.
One-woman shows: "CAT THEATER", GALLERY Jy, Tokyo, every January since 2001.
